The Financial Compliance team develops, plans and performs a broad range of projects designed to assess independent service providers' compliance with CLBC's contractual and reporting requirements and to monitor the operation of internal financial controls.

The Role:

As a Senior Compliance Auditor for CLBC, you will be responsible for conducting service provider contract accountability and compliance audits, as well as for monitoring the operation of CLBC's internal control over financial reporting. Other duties include:

  • Performs audit procedures designed to evaluate service providers' compliance with contractual service delivery requirements for service levels, evaluate estimates contained in funding guide submissions and funding utilization;
  • Designs and performs alternative procedures to form an opinion on the service providers overall compliance with contractual service delivery requirements for service levels, and funding guide submissions where records are not adequate to undertake standard audit procedures;
  • Performs audit procedures designed to evaluate the financial services team's compliance with its internal control processes for procurement, contracting and accounting, including service level reconciliations, and contract and payment processing;
  • Meets with CLBC's finance staff to validate and communicate the review findings and recommendations;
  • Contributes to business process improvement within CLBC by identifying control weaknesses and opportunities to streamline financial processes and mitigate risks

You will work collaboratively and proactively within both the Financial Compliance team and the larger Finance Division, applying sound and consistent judgement throughout the duties and accountabilities of the position.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline;
  • Professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA);
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certification or equivalent would be an asset,
  • A minimum of 3 years of closely related work experience, preferably as an auditor or conducting compliance monitoring and testing.
  • Intermediate MS Word and Excel skills.

Travel: Limited travel as required throughout BC. Possession of a valid Class 5 Drivers License and clean Driver's Abstract is required.

Classification/Salary: Financial Officer R27 / position starts at $72,724 annually, plus a temporary market adjustment of 6.6%
