The Role:

As an IT Enterprise Architect at CLBC, you will be responsible for providing Information Technology (IT) and Information Management (IM) enterprise architecture services to support ongoing business and technology improvements and advancements, consistent with CLBC strategic architecture vision, plans, systems, standards, and integrated requirements. This position will also be responsible for the development and execution of information technology vision, and roadmaps while ensuring alignment with the goals and vision of CLBC.

Responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating collaborative planning partnerships with Business Architect ensuring that technology objectives and plans align with business objectives and plans
    Leading and contributing to the development of IT/IM roadmaps in order to transform the business from current state architectures to desired future state architectures
  • Advising on and responsible for the overall architectural design and compliance of multi-year, multi-million-dollar enterprise systems
  • Identifying investment opportunities for application and technology portfolios that target value add architecture improvements such as decreasing technical debt
  • Providing expertise and recommendations on build versus buy analyses where applicable
  • Designing architecture models that allow for integration both between internal applications and external systems where applicable
  • Researching, evaluating, and making recommendations on all facets of technology architecture, new technologies, product effectiveness, potential obsolescence, and pilots new architectures
  • Providing expertise on solutions, product evaluation, risk assessments and cost-benefit analysis of existing and future information technology infrastructure
  • Creating and maintaining artefacts, documents, and diagrams within the enterprise architecture repository

This role requires sound knowledge and understanding/skills in:

  • Project management leadership, methodologies, techniques and processes
  • Architecture modelling tools and methodologies (i.e. TOGAF)
  • SQL Server Database Services
  • All aspects of application development using a System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and modern Software Engineering practices
  • Containerization of .NET Framework Applications with Docker
  • Implementing SOLID development architectural principals
  • .NET application design and development with C#
  • Modernization of .NET Framework applications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Studies, Information Management, or an equivalent degree in a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the analysis, design, and implementation of complex IT architectures.
  • Preference may be given to candidates
    • with TOGAF 9 certification, or candidates with related experience.
    • who have experience working with SQL Server Database Services, System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), NServiceBus, Microservices Architecture, PowerShell, and/or Message Queueing

Classification/Salary: IS R30: position starts at $79,530 annually, plus a 9.9% market adjustment paid bi-weekly
