Community Living British Columbia [CLBC] is a Crown corporation responsible for arranging support and services for adults with developmental disabilities and their families. The Accounting Services team is responsible for managing the systems and processes related to all accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounting, payroll treasury, and financial reporting.
The Role: As an Accounts Payable Clerk at CLBC, you will be responsible for understanding and applying methods in preparing, calculating, and processing accounts payable transactions for CLBC in accordance with established financial policies.
This will include:
- Verifying that backup and source documents are accurate
- Examining service contracts, expenditure payments, invoices, etc. to ensure payments are appropriate
- Reviewing reports on contract payments
- Maintaining spreadsheets on various issues
- Performing general ledger account reconciliations
You will also monitor the CLBC helpdesk phone line for calls from service providers, clients, and staff
This is the role for you if you have the ability to communicate and deal with others effectively; are able to plan, organize and coordinate your work, and meet deadlines. Service orientation, teamwork, and analytical thinking are important competencies of this role.
Qualifications:
- Completion of Grade 12 and post-secondary courses in accounting and business plus three years of experience in a complex accounts payable environment
- Excellent knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel
- Experience in reconciling accounts

This is an auxiliary position. Auxiliaries may be hired for project work, or to cover vacancies or leaves of varying lengths.
Term/Status: Temporary - Anticipated term March 2024
Classification/Salary: Clerk 11 - Starts at $25.28 per hour
