The Role:

As a Project Manager-IT at CLBC, you will be responsible for managing teams involved in the design and development of new and enhanced infrastructure and data-specific information systems to support the attainment of business goals, strategic objectives and new directions for service delivery. In this role, you must drive the delivery of assigned projects to ensure timeliness and quality within scope and budget.     

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining familiarity with infrastructure and development cycles
  • Providing leadership and direction for delivering the project initiatives and opportunities for improved service delivery
  • Leading and directing processes with staff to identify solutions to problems that have organizational implications for a wide variety of sensitive service delivery issues
  • Providing project management leadership and expertise, including creating teams for a number of sub-projects including various project steering committees
  • Chairing project initiation meetings;
  • Directing the development of the project management plan including charter, strategy, risk, technical and training plans, and testing
  • Managing all transitions from project development into production including performance testing to ensure all business specifications and requirements are met
  • Addressing short-term high priority IT initiatives within the overall framework
  • Overseeing and verifying the completion of work
  • Managing and assessing the financial risk of projects and systems changes and developments.

This is the role for you if you have progressive experience as part of a project team delivering projects of significant scope and impact, including a minimum of five years as a project manager independently managing complex and multi-faceted IT projects throughout the full life cycle. Experience in the design, planning, development, and implementation of social and/or health care information is ideal.


  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Preference may be given to candidates with project management certification from a recognized school/organization.
  • Demonstrated ongoing professional skills upgrading.
